Angels Abroad Foundation embarks on a mission of empowering students aged 14-18 from Title I schools by offering them their first international volunteering opportunity. The foundation organizes week-long summer trips to countries such as Haiti, Honduras, Peru, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.
During these trips, the foundation takes care of all necessary expenses, including passport fees, accommodation, meals, excursions, and transportation, ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for the students.
The students spend their time abroad working alongside local construction workers, project managers, and engineers, contributing to community development projects such as home construction and school renovation in underprivileged areas.
Recently, Angels Abroad expanded its program duration from one to three weeks. The additional weeks are dedicated to preparing students for their international trip and getting them OSHA 10 certified. Furthermore, the students are given an opportunity to shadow professionals like project managers, superintendents, safety specialists, and estimators, providing a real-world glimpse into these roles.
The week spent abroad offers students a myriad of benefits. They get the chance to serve less privileged communities, acquire valuable volunteer experience for their resumes, build teamwork skills, and develop technical trade competencies. Moreover, they begin to network with leaders in the construction industry, which can inspire them to consider careers in engineering, technology, trades, or management within the construction sector.
At Angels Abroad Foundation, we are driven by a significant and purposeful goal: to ensure all 347 students currently on our waitlist embark on the life-altering journey of a mission trip before their high school graduation. The global pandemic has unfortunately caused some students to miss out on this transformative experience. We believe in the immense potential of these trips to broaden perspectives, inspire a spirit of service, and nurture global understanding. Despite the challenges, we remain committed to making these opportunities accessible to every student on our waitlist. Join us as we strive to turn this aspiration into reality, promising to make a difference in each student's life, one mission trip at a time.
Angels Abroad Foundation is dedicated to empowering students from Title I schools by providing them with life-changing international volunteer experiences. Our mission is to foster global awareness, cultivate technical skills, and inspire future careers in the construction industry. We strive to create a platform where young minds can contribute to community development, gain invaluable real-world experience, and ignite their potential, all while making a meaningful difference in underprivileged communities around the world.
